IRL update: I've been going back and forth over this for a while, but I think it's finally official--despite what I promised at the beginning of the year, I will not be able to launch the TGS Kickstarter by the end of 2018. I really appreciate those of you who have expressed support for it in past months, and I do hope to get to the Kickstarter soon, but unexpected events began popping up around mid-year that derailed my ability to plan for anything beyond the weekly production of the comic itself. I'm honestly quite bummed out that I've had to put it off month after month, but . . . that's just the way things worked out. Once again I thank you all for your patience and promise that I will be posting here and on social media as soon as I have a better idea of when the Kickstarter can happen. Ironically, Rachel and Lanyon are driven by the same thing: loyalty. Lanyon has good reasons to be suspicious of Hyde, but he also wouldn't think twice about getting some random person thrown in jail if it meant helping Jekyll. And Rachel may be crying, but that doesn't mean her motivations are any more noble: There is almost nothing Hyde could do that would make her turn on him. She could watch him stab someone to death on the street, and if that person tried to call for help, she would shake them by the collar and demand, "Why are you trying to get poor Master Hyde in trouble? I bet he was having a really hard day!" (Just to make it unnecessarily topical, she is absolutely the sort of person who would stand by a shitty friend/family member in court no matter how much evidence piled up against them. Everyone is someone else's perfect little cinnamon scone, and that's not necessarily a good thing.)
