This is the final week of the TGS Halloween Fanwork Festival! Check out the submissions so far here! If you'd like to participate, I'm featuring Halloween and fall-themed fanworks on Tumblr, Instagram, and Twitter using the hashtag #TGSHalloween!

Fans of Jekyll and Hyde: the Musical may note that this page quotes the original Broadway cast album rather than the 2-disc concept album, a thing I almost never do because the concept album is better, damnit. The concept album version of Confrontation ends with Hyde's line ("I'll see you there, Jekyll"), leaving us on what I would argue is a much more chilling, suspenseful note. The inclusion of Jekyll's final line ("Never!!") in the Broadway version always felt so cheesy to me--the fact that Jekyll could summon up so much clear-eyed defiance of Hyde, even at the end of this punishing psychological battle of wills, reduced him from a morally complex protagonist grappling with his own darkness to a Saturday morning superhero toppling the latest villain-of-the-week. But in this context, Jekyll is actively trying to craft a black-and-white morality play for his "audience," so the Broadway version seemed to fit.
